FAQ's

To help make planning your attendance as smooth and easy as possible, we've put together answers to frequently asked questions.

When should I arrive?

We encourage arriving Thursday (9/11/2025) after 2pm to take full advantage of the property and planned events. However, it's totally up to you! Whether you come Thursday to soak it all in or join us just for Friday and Saturday for the rehearsal dinner and wedding, we're here and ready to celebrate.

We recommend arriving while it is still light outside if you can - the mountain roads are winding, and we want everyone to arrive safely.

Check-out is by 11 AM on Sunday after brunch.

What's covered in the weekend fee?

For $300 per person, you're all set with every meal, all drinks, cozy accommodations, and tons of on-site fun—all weekend long! Whenever you arrive (Thursday or Friday), it's the same price no matter what. Children aged 3-12 are $150 per person, and infants under 3 are free.

When and how should I prepare to pay the weekend fee?

Before payment can be accepted, you must complete your RSVP on our website here: carolineandcooper.com/rsvp

Upon completing our RSVP form, you can complete your payment via Hawkesdene's secure payment system. You MUST complete this step before July 15th in order to finalize your attendance. Your party's total requested contribution will be calculated in your RSVP confirmation email.

What's the dress code?

  • Thursday and Friday Daytime: comfortable activewear or casual wear - something you would be comfortable being outside in.
  • Thursday Dinner: Smart Casual
  • Friday Dinner: Tie Optional
  • Bridal Brunch: Casual
  • Wedding: Formal

Are kids allowed?

Yes, we LOVE your kids. To cover food and accommodations, we ask that families with children aged 3-12 years contribute $150 per child for the weekend. Children under 3 require no contribution.

If you are interested in group babysitting for part of the weekend or the wedding/reception, reach out to Caroline. Hawkesdene has a few "preferred vendor" babysitters we could organize based on your preference.

Can I drive to Hawkesdene?

Yes! Hawkesdene is accessible to Charlotte in about 3.5 hours drive, and Louisville in about 5.5 hours drive. We understand this is a big ask, but promise you'll be able to stay put and relax once you get here. Plus, there's plentiful parking.

What if I need to fly in?

Hawkesdene is accessible by ~2 hours drive from four major airports: Atlanta (ATL), Asheville (AVL), Chattanooga (CHA), and Knoxville (TYX). Andrews, NC has a few well-reviewed shuttle companies that can help with transportation (here and here), and renting a car is always an option.

What are the sleeping arrangements?

Hawkesdene has a mix of private rooms and cute cottages, all spread out across this gorgeous mountain estate. The homes are comfortable and well equipped, and will feel like staying at a mountain inn. You will be assigned a room and bathroom after you RSVP to the formal invitation and complete your payment.

Most accommodations have an ensuite bathroom. However, some bathrooms may need to be shared. If this is the case, we promise that you do not need to share with anyone that you are not already very comfortable with.

Is this camping?

No- Hawesdene was previously a bed and breakfast, and is now transformed into a stunning weekend retreat property. You can check out some examples of accommodations here: https://www.hawkesdene.com/homes-and-cottages/

What if I need special accommodations for accessibility?

Hawkesdene has a handful of ADA compliant rooms, and onsite staff will be able to support transportation across the property via golf cart as needed. Please reach out to Caroline and Cooper to discuss options.

Can I bring my dog?

No- we're going dog-free this weekend so everyone can fully dive into the fun, activities, and all the quality time with friends and family.

What's there to do on-site?

Hawkesdene has a ton to do onsite - a private mountain top hike, campfires, a stocked game room, cornhole and horseshoes, yoga, volleyball, and more. It's 80 acres of beautiful nature, and fun options. The Wallace and Goeke families will be planning more deliberate activities through the summer, so stay tuned for a more detailed itinerary.

What's the food and drink situation, and what if I have dietary restrictions?

Our promise to you: you won't be hungry this weekend!

We'll take care of you with meals all day long—breakfast, lunch, dinner, plus snacks and drinks. Got any special dietary needs? Just let us know by texting Caroline or Cooper, and we'll ensure your needs are well met.

If you would like to bring your own snacks or extra food, each cabin is equipped with a full kitchen.

Can I bring my own booze?

The bar is stocked with what we've set up for the whole weekend, but feel free to share with us if there's anything special you'd like to add to the mix.

What should I pack?

Pack comfy, active clothes and shoes for activities on property, formal attire for the ceremony, and maybe an extra layer or rain gear (mountain weather likes to keep us guessing!). We'll also have large dinners on Thursday and Friday night where you might want to elevate your look. Please be sure to check both the high and low temperatures when packing, the nights can get chilly.

What if it rains?

No worries—we've got plenty of covered spots, including a pavilion, game room, huge indoor dining areas, and a tent we can bring out if needed. Come rain or shine, it'll be a beautiful weekend to celebrate regardless.

Can I bring my "hunting gear"

For everyone's safety, firearms and weapons of any kind are a no-go on the property.

Where did the "save the date" game go?

The game can still be found here for all to enjoy. Congratulations to the official winners:
